Fill Custom Data Fields Via Api

My customer wants to use custom data fields in the message center to display customer data from their portal. I have created these fields in the web interface, but can not find a way to fill them through the api.

I can fill name and email via setContactInfo and I have tried filling the custom fields via setCustomData using the field name or field id as key. Neither worked.

Is there a way for me to fill custom fields via the api?

@birgit-lz Sorry for late response. There's no way to set custom fields with the api yet.

Why was this issue closed as completed then? My issue has not been addressed, either leave it open or close as won't do.
