Briefly - suggestion to rectify inconsistencies in estimated numbers.

There might well be other numbers which need a similar sort of treatment.

Mr. Fisher's suggestion seems sensible for committers.

Other numbers e.g. Member count might not be amenable.

Dates and time spans generally are a common enough issue but I have no examples on ASF sites to quote. In the past I've used ad-hoc Perl tooling to look for such things to good effect.
